Radon Testing Services
Did you know that radon can appear undetected in just about any property? You won’t notice this dangerous gas seeping into your home or business, but the consequences are serious.
Radon is the #2 cause of cancer in the United States, right behind smoking. Radon testing is the only way to discover it.
Stratton Inspections, LLC offers full, accurate radon testing services for Clemmons, Winston Salem, and Charlotte areas of NC. This type of testing is important because radon can sneak into any property through cracks or openings in the foundation. It’s a radioactive gas that has no odor, smell, taste or color.
When it comes to radioactive gas, you want someone with experience and proper licenses. Rest assured that we have you covered there, and after we’ve collected samples from your home or business we’ll send them off to an independent lab. After verifying the results, we inform you of the outcomes. Should any mitigation be necessary, we’ll recommend a course of action.
Don’t allow your family or employees to run an unnecessary risk that’s easily remedied.
We’ll be happy to answer all of your questions and set up your appointment.

Radon testing is ideal for:

How Does A Radon Test Work?
Professional radon tests are considered “active” as opposed to the passive style of DIY kits.
Professional tests use teflon discs that are statically charged. Any time an ion from radon gas touches the disc, it reduces the total static charge on the disc. This test also runs for 12-24 hours, after which the total amount of charge lost can be measured and give an indication of how much radon gas (if any) was present.
There’s nothing special that needs to happen in the home for a radon test to work. As shown in the picture earlier on in this page, the radon test looks like a small briefcase that can sit anywhere out of the way in the home. It is plugged in for the duration of the test.
Generally we advise scheduling a radon test during a regular home inspection, and we can activate the radon testing device either at the start of our inspection or just before we leave the home. That allows it to run without needing supervision.
